How to get to the start of the Mountains to Sea Cycle Trail

Nearest major airports are Palmerston North, Wellington, Rotorua, Auckland.  Smaller airports, Whanganui and Taupo. 
From Australia, the popular route is to fly into Wellington and then hire a car and drive to Ohakune (3.5hrs)

Rail - The Northern Explorer

The Mountain Bike Station is conveniently located within 2km from the Ohakune Train Station and we can pick you up from the train station. So why not experience the Northern Explorer and travel through the heart of New Zealand.

Self Drive

Take your time and enjoy the countryside. Rental cars available from all main cities. There are no rental services available in Ohakune.
